Hollister Donates $1M to Organizations Focused on Supporting Confidence Among Teens

Global teen retailer names 2021 recipients of the Hollister Confidence Fund Grant Program

New Albany, Ohio, March 2, 2021: Hollister Co., the global teen brand celebrating the spirit of an endless summer, today announced the 2021 recipients of the Hollister Confidence Fund grant program – a 501(c)(3) charity that supports individuals and nonprofits working to strengthen confidence and mental wellness in teens. Hollister will donate $1M across 20 organizations that are focused on critically important areas including teen mental health, equity for young Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC), safety and inclusion of LGBTQ+ youth, anti-bullying, and sustainability.

The Hollister Confidence Fund is part of The Hollister Confidence Project, a year-round, worldwide initiative dedicated to helping teens feel their most comfortable, confident and capable. The Confidence Project was announced in 2020 to celebrate the inaugural World Teen Mental Wellness Day – an annual event held March 2nd that Hollister founded in partnership with the National Day Calendar to dismantle the stigma around teen mental health.

“One of the many lessons learned throughout 2020 was how critical mental health is, and that remains especially true for the teen demographic,” said Kristin Scott, Global Brand President at Abercrombie & Fitch Co. “At Hollister, we are passionate about supporting initiatives that improve our teen customers’ mental health, well-being, environments and more. We are honored to give back to these organizations and projects through the Hollister Confidence Project, and to support those who are working to champion these causes day in and day out within our communities.”

The Hollister Confidence Project’s advisory board, which consists of mental health experts, educators and Hollister brand representatives, selected 20 non-profit organizations and projects from across the country to receive this year’s grants – which will be used to build further confidence among teens across a variety of communities. The recipients include: 826CHI, About Face Theatre Collective, Alaska Behavioral Health, BestSelf Behavioral Health, Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, City Year Chicago, Embarc, Comer Education Campus, Health Information Project, HomeWorks Trenton, Mindful Schools, Our Minds Matter, Penn State PRO Wellness, Project Hope Alliance, Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago, Q Space, This Is My Brave, We Amplify Voices, Young Invincibles, and Youth Guidance.
